Day 1 London - Newquay

Crossing over 2000 year old Roman bridges, we then drive through the mysterious Bodmin Moor, home of the Beast of Bodmin and past the Jamaica Inn (the setting of Daphne du Maurier's novels). We end the day in the English surfer's paradise of Newquay - great waves and fabulous sandy beaches!

We depart for a leisurely drive around the Celtic county of Cornwall stopping at St. Michael's Mount, a tidal island with a medieval castle and church on it! We then explore the standing stones and quoits of Cornwall which are thousands of years old. Have a huge Cornish pasty for lunch and then burn it off as we walk to the tip of Britain - Land's End, Britain's most south-westerly point! Then it's on to the amazing, atmospheric, outdoor theatre of Minack built by one woman in the last century and based on a Roman amphitheatre. Pretty spectacular stuff with the waves crashing on the horizon! Back to Newquay to party!
