15 Day Tour of the USA - The Southern Adventure Tour

Featuring: Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Arizona and California. Visit the most rocking cities in the United States - Nashville, Memphis, and Las Vegas - as well as natural wonders like the Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon.

Day 1 - Los Angeles (Anaheim) to Las Vegas: You’ll have plenty of time to meet your new Contiki friends en route to the city of non stop excitement and glittering lights, Las Vegas. Our Las Vegas night tour travels down The Strip, home to many of the world’s largest hotels and casinos. The city tour ends with a showing of the Fremont Street Experience, the world’s greatest collective light show. After Fremont Street, why not take in a famous Las Vegas cabaret show? Hotel (D)

Day 2 - Las Vegas at Leisure:
The day is yours to take in this exciting city. Perhaps try your luck at the tables or slot machines at one of the famous casinos – Caesars Palace, The Mirage, MGM Grand, or Luxor Pyramid. Maybe you’ll want to explore some of the attractions at the newer hotels – Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, or The Venetian. Feeling adventurous? Try the Big Shot at the top of the Stratosphere and catapult to the height of 327 metres (1,081 feet). Great shopping, concerts, fabulous restaurants, and 24-hour nightlife – Las Vegas is truly a city that never sleeps! Hotel

Day 3 - Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon:
We depart Nevada this morning and enter the state of Arizona. This afternoon we arrive at one of the world’s seven natural wonders, The Grand Canyon. Our modern cabins are located inside the National Park, just a short walk to the rim of The Grand Canyon. Cabin (B,D)

Day 4 - Grand Canyon at Leisure:
At over 1.6km (1 mile) deep and averaging 16km (10 miles) wide, the Grand Canyon is truly an awe inspiring spectacle. We have the whole day to hike and explore the area. Maybe take a sensational helicopter flight over the canyon (optional).Cabins

Day 5 - Grand Canyon to Cortez via Monument Valley:
This morning we travel across the Southwest seeing the Painted Desert as we enter the Navajo Indian Reservation. This afternoon we will see the spectacular rock formations of Monument Valley – a favourite location for American western movies. Join us for an off road trip for close up views of the mesas, buttes, and plateaus that make this area so famous. Our hotel tonight is in Cortez, located in the beautiful state of Colorado. Day 6 - Cortez to Albuquerque:
Today we’ll experience the spectacular Rocky Mountains as we travel through Colorado. This morning we’ll stop in Durango, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy an optional whitewater rafting trip (seasonal) down the Animas River. Or take an optional jeep ride into the back country of the Rocky Mountains (seasonal), whichever is more to your liking. Then it's onto the state of New Mexico, and our overnight accommodation in the stat's largest city of Albuquerque.Hotel (B,D)

Day 7 - Albuquerque to Amarillo:
This morning you will have the opportunity to go hot air ballooning in Albuquerque, home of the world’s largest balloon fiesta every autumn. Then it’s off to downtown Santa Fe, where you’ll have time for lunch. We then depart for the Lone Star State of Texas. Everything is BIG in Texas! This afternoon we will visit the world’s only Cadillac Ranch – a tribute to Route 66 & the great American automobile. Tonight’s accommodation and dinner in Amarillo are both true examples of real Texas culture! Hotel (D)

Day 8 - Amarillo to Dallas:
Today we make our way to the city of Dallas. Upon arrival enjoy a city tour and orientation. Tonight you will have the opportunity to go to the popular Mesquite Rodeo (seasonal).Hotel (B)

Day 9 - Dallas at Leisure:
This morning we will visit Texas Stadium (when available), home of the Dallas Cowboys. This afternoon, tour the John F. Kennedy Sixth Floor Museum, located on the sixth floor of the former Texas School Book Depository building, and learn the legacy of America’s 35th president. Hotel (B,D)

Day 10 - Dallas to Memphis:
Our first stop today is the city of Texarkana, and you can choose to eat lunch in either Texas or Arkansas, since the city is actually split into two different states. We will also make a quick stop at the Arkansas Capital Building in Little Rock, the city Bill Clinton called home for a number of years. Upon arrival into Memphis, there will be a short city orientation. memphis is the Home of the Blues and the Birthplace of Rock 'n Roll and tonight we'll head ot to Beale street whenre the action starts. Day 11 - Memphis at Leisure:
"We’re going to Graceland," this morning as we visit the private home of Elvis Presley. Your tour includes both the mansion and the grounds. You will also have a chance to see Elvis’ grave and the eternal flame in the Meditation Garden. This afternoon, we will make a stop at the Civil Rights Museum, as well as famous Sun Studios. Enjoy the rest of your time exploring this famous city. Hotel

Day 12 - Memphis to Nashville:
On to Nashville, "Music City U.S.A." On our way to Nashville we’ll stop in Lynchburg, TN home to the Jack Daniels Distillery. You’ll learn the art of whiskey making on a guided tour of the distillery. Tonight, we’ll head out on the town to experience what Nashville has to offer! (B) Hotel

Day 13 - Nashville at leisure:
Experience this city up-close and personal with a sightseeing tour of Nashville's landmarks, including the Parthenon, Ryman auditorium and the homes of famous country-western music performers and the recording studios of Music Row. Visit the Grand Ole Opry or since the day is free, why not join us for an optional insiders tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Music Row with a guided tour of RCA Studio B. Tonight, join us for an optional riverboat cruise on the largest showboat in the world! (B) Hotel

Day 14 - Nashville to Atlanta:
Today we head south to the capital of Georgia and the site of the 1996 summer Olympics…Atlanta! View the sights on your orientation tour of Atlanta, including Peachtree Plaza, CNN Center, and Peachtree Street with its charming neighborhoods before arriving at our hotel. Tonight, experience Atlanta’s vibrant nightlife. (B,D ) Hotel

Day 15 - Atlanta to Orlando
Hello Mickey! We say goodbye to Atlanta today as we travel through the state of Georgia en route to Florida, America’s most visited city. Your tour ends upon arrival at the hotel. Hotel (B)
