Escape from London for this amazing 4 day trip to the most beautiful part of England, The Lake District. The country's largest national park is home to breathtaking scenery and it is no surprise that it is on the list as a future World heritage site - a real must see for visitors to the UK. We contrast this natural beauty with a visit to England's nomination for the European City of Culture - Liverpool. A diverse city which is home to the Beatles, football, music and culture, this makes an exciting end to your long weekend.
Day One - Friday
Depart from London and enjoy a beautiful drive to the Lake District.
Day Two - Saturday
A relaxing day by the shores of Lake Windermere. The largest lake in the Lake District, Windermere boasts a range of activities for you to indulge in. Spend the day wetting your feet in the lake by experimenting with wakeboarding, waterskiing, canoeing or sailing. For the more chilled amongst the group, try a lake cruise on a tour boat or perhaps charter a small one of your own!! In the afternoon why not explore the many shops and bars in the waterfront town of Bowness, or take a trip to the world famous Beatrix Potter exhibition.
This evening we will watch the sun set over the lake, and if the weather permits enjoy a lakeside BBQ. The rest of the evening can be spent in the local pubs and bars.
Day Three - Sunday
After breakfast we take a day trip around the stunning Lake District National Park and take advantage of the stunning walks available. Visit Coniston, famous for the water speed record attempts that have taken place across it's surface and Grasmere renowned as the inspoiration and final resting place of the famopus poet, William Wordsworth. Following a stop at Castle Rigg Stone Circle for som ancient vibes, we continue on to Aria Force - a stunning waterfall which provides the perfect backdrop onto Ullswtaer, considered one of the most picturesque liakes in the Park. Our final destination will be a well-deserved refreshment stop at the highest pub in Cumbria and undoubtedly the one with the best views.
Back home for a hearty evening meal and an evening at your leisure.
Day Four -Monday
We make an early departure to enjoy a full day in Liverpool. Following a stop at Anfield, home of the Liverpool football team, we visit the Albert Docks - a focal point for Liverpool's history. Take the opportunity to see the 'Beatles' story and experience Beatlemania. Then it's all aboard for a magical mystery tour as we visit The Cavern Club, Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane - names and locations made fmaous by the Fab Four. A great end to this cool trip.
