9 Day Tour of Egypt - Christmas Tutankhamen

 

Day 1: Cairo
Welcome to Egypt and the start of your holiday! Arrive Cairo, included transfer to our hotel. Overnight - Cairo

Day 2: Cairo - Aswan - breakfast
A big day out at the pyramids and sphinx at Giza, then a visit to the necropolis at Saqqara. Tonight, we travel to Aswan by sleeper cabin train. Overnight - sleeper train

Day 3: Aswan - breakfast
Arrival and check into our hotel. Today, we visit the Aswan High Dam and travel across by boat to Agilika Island to visit the Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Later, free time to hit the bazaars or chill-out. Overnight - Aswan

Days 4 & 5: Aswan - Kom Ombo - all meals aboard the felucca
Optional early morning air excursion to famous Abu Simbel. This afternoon, we board our Nile felucca for a 2-night cruise upstream. Relax, top up your tan and chat with new friends as the felucca gently plies its route. A visit is also made to the Temple of Kom Ombo. Overnight (2) - Nile felucca

Day 6: Kom Ombo - Luxor - breakfast
Disembarking our felucca, we drive north to Luxor. Home of the legendary Valley of the Kings and Queens and the gigantic Temple of Karnak, 4000 year old Luxor is ancient Egypt at it’s best. Enjoy a day of R&R at our 5 hotel, before our visit to the Amenophis III’s striking Temple of Luxor by night. Overnight - Luxor

Day 7: Luxor - Cairo - breakfast
An early start! There is the option to float over Luxor in a hot air balloon ride and see area wake up and come alive. Afterwards, we cross to the West Bank, where we’ll see the massive twin seated statues known as the Colossi of Memnon. We’ll then explore the Valleys of the Kings and Queens and the awesome ramped and colonnaded Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Later, a chance to relax before our visit to the colossal Temple of Karnak. Lose yourself in the stone-columned Hypostle Hall and go crazy with your camera. This is ancient Egypt. Later tonight, we return by overnight seater train to Cairo. Consider opting for our sleeper train upgrade on the return journey or combined money saving pharaoh's pass including nile cruiser upgrade and sleeper train journey. Overnight - train

Day 8: Cairo - breakfast box
Arrival and hotel check-in. Later, we visit the famous Egyptian Museum, famed for the treasures of King Tutankhamen and his famous solid gold funerary mask. Rest of day free. Overnight - Cairo

Day 9: Cairo - breakfast
Hotel check out and included onward transfer to airport.
