8 Day Camping Safari - Go Kenya
Day 1 Welcome to Nairobi!
We’ll be there to collect you at Nairobi Airport. Your first night will be spent at our pre-safari hotel in the centre of town.
Day 2: Nairobi - Lake Nakuru National Park
Can you believe you’re here? Without further ado, we set off. Driving north, we ascend the Great Rift Valley. The Great Rift Valley was formed millions of years ago. Stretching some 5,000 miles from Jordan to Mozambique, it’s the longest rift on earth. In Kenya, the rift gave rise to many lakes that have become a habitat for diverse wildlife. One such lake is Nakuru - a soda lake. Famously, Lake Nakuru attracts vast numbers of fabulously coloured pink flamingoes to its shallow waters. Hippo, various hooved animals, black rhino, giraffe, lion, leopard and a profusion of birds are also present at Nakuru. We enjoy an afternoon game drive today. Overnight - campsite. (Lunch and dinner)
Days 3 - 4: Lake Nakuru NP - Lake Naivasha
We embark on an early morning game drive at Lake Nakuru, before departing and travelling south to Lake Naivasha. The highest of the Rift Valley lakes, Naivasha is a beautiful, shallow freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus. The waters of the lake draw a great array of game to the shoreline. Buffalo wallow in the swamps whilst the large hippo population laze their days away in the shallows. Giraffes wander among the acacia, whilst Colobus monkeys swing from the green canopies above. From here, you can opt to visit Elsamere, Crescent Island Game Sanctuary or Hells Gate NP. Overnight (2) - campsite. (All meals)
Days 5 - 7: Lake Naivasha - Masai Mara
Descending the Rift Valley, we reach arguably Kenya’s most famous natural attraction - the Masai Mara National Reserve. A 320 sq. km slab of open savannah dotted with Acacia trees, the Kenyan section of the wildly beautiful Serengeti Plains teems with wildlife. Coupled with the annual wildebeest migration, elephant, lion, cheetah, giraffe, zebra and a multitude of hooved herbivores inhabit the reserve. Morning and evening game drives through the Mara gives us the chance to spot the Big Five. Overnight (3) - campsite. (All meals)
