10 Day Tour of Australia - The Best of Oz Tour

Got a limited amount of time but keen to see all of Australia’s best bits? This is the ultimate time maximizer. Three of Australia’s hottest regions covered in the one tour to make sure you don’t miss anything. This tour includes Sydney – one of the top five cities in the world contrasted with Uluru and an optional trip to Great Barrier Reef – two of the seven natural wonders of the world!

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Sydney
Check into your hotel after 2.00pm and for the remainder of the day you are free to relax before meeting your fellow travelers at 6.00pm. Hotel (D)

Day 2: Sydney
Spend the morning on an orientation tour of Sydney taking in the major sights of Bondi Beach, the affluent harborside suburbs, the historic Rocks and Macquarie Street precincts, Circular Quay and Sydney’s famous Opera House. In the afternoon we will take a cruise on Sydney’s beautiful harbor, with free time in the bustling retail district or perhaps a visit to Darling Harbor - known for it’s excellent selection of restaurants and bars. Day 3: Sydney
A free day to explore Sydney and surrounds. Perhaps start with a climb of Sydney’s landmark Harbor Bridge. Further afield you may wish to visit the Hunter Valley wineries or perhaps an optional day tour to the National Capital of Canberra - the choice is yours! Hotel (B)

Day 4: Sydney to Uluru (Ayers Rock)
After breakfast we transfer to Sydney Airport for our flight to Uluru. Upon arrival, enjoy a brief orientation of the unique Yulara township, just a short drive from the National Park and amazing Uluru. Familiarize yourself with the facilities at Yulara and take a walk through the informative Visitors Center to learn of the ancient geography of the area. Lodge (B)

Day 5: Uluru
Uluru National park and the famous ‘big rock’ await. We’ll watch the amazing warm hues of an Uluru sunrise, followed by a visit to the excellent Cultural Center housing a display of information on Aboriginal history and culture. Then why not jump on the back of a Harley Davidson motorcycle to take in more of the Spinifex plains? Maybe take a flight over the area or challenge the vertical and climb Uluru? Later time for a swim and to enjoy a glass of bubbly to toast the Uluru sunset. Lodge (B)

Day 6: Uluru
Put on your hiking boots as today we depart early for the drive to Kings Canyon and Watarrka National Park. Spectacular scenery awaits. Climb up to the ridge of the Canyon and discover the Lost City and the Garden of Eden. An afternoon break at the camel and cattle property known as Kings Creek Station, before our drive back to Yulara for a delicious BBQ dinner. Lodge (B, D)

Day 7: Uluru to Cairns
Perhaps an early wake up to sample a final Central Australian sunrise before transferring to the airport for your flight to Cairns. This afternoon we check into your Cairns hotel, situated in a lush tropical setting. Resort (B)

Day 8: Cairns
We transfer to the unique Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park to learn more about the fascinating history and culture of Australia’s indigenous people. Then on to Skyrail, a unique gondola ride high above the tropical rainforest. We have some free time in the quaint rainforest village of Kuranda – famous for it’s markets – before driving back to Cairns. Resort (B)

Day 9: Cairns
Relax in Cairns or try the multitude of optional activities that are available. Try bungy jumping, white water rafting, or maybe today take the opportunity to visit the famous Great Barrier Reef aboard a high-speed catamaran. Why not scuba dive or snorkel amidst amazingly colorful tropical fish? Last night together tonight, so we’ll check out more tropical wildlife at one of Cairns’ nightspots! Resort (B, D)

Day 10: Cairns
Your tour ends this morning after breakfast, or why not extend your stay in this tropical paradise?
